Sawade

Chocolates made by hand with loving care and skill – ever since 1880 by the oldest manufactory of its kind in Berlin

Exquisite pralines, truffles and other specialities

For over 140 years, Sawade has been a synonym for choice chocolates, pralines and truffles from Berlin. As a former royal purveyor to Prince George of Prussia and the Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, the company is still winning international awards. Ladislaus Maximilianus Ziemkiewicz learnt the art of fine chocolate-making in France. In 1880 he opened his manufactory in Berlin along with the first shop selling home-made pralines, confectionery and sweets.

Sawade traditionally values first-class ingredients, well-balanced sweetness, unadulterated taste and timeless composition. Raw materials are always purchased in their natural state and processed in-house. Hand-crafted with dedication, every chocolate is a moment of exquisite enjoyment.

"Out of passion for traditional praline craftsmanship and for the Sawade brand, we took over the manufactory in 2013."
